NOVEMBER 16, 2020 – RacketAid is the “1st Truly Digital Platform for Racket Stringing by Mail.” The company, which was founded by Kal Kadah in late July 2020, states that the birth of the idea arrived during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. But the business didn’t just want to give customers a quarantine alternative, the objective was to expand the reach and popularity of racket sports nationwide. Kadah expanded on this objective by stating, “Though the idea was catalyzed by the pandemic, the reality is that 68% of Americans are not within 25 miles of a local pro shop. Regardless, people are busy. We wanted to provide a user-friendly website which could simplify options, easily inform customers about product choice, and provide superior service with a branded experience.”
The company touts their packages on the website by providing premium string choice, free nationwide shipping, and a free overgrip and dampener on every racket. They also promote the belief in never up-charging customers for anything extra. RacketAid also recently started their version of a subscription service called the #KeepYourBox program. This program urges customers to keep their branded RacketAid box after their first order; thereafter, customers receive 15% off their next purchase, regardless of size, in perpetuity.
In early November, RacketAid also extended the same services past just tennis. The company now offers racquetball, badminton, and squash racket stringing for the same priced package and features.
Being just three months in, the company has seemingly been quick to find partnerships such as the Women’s Tennis Coaching Association, Dunlop Sports, and Milligan University. It will be interesting to see in the coming months how this company grows and expands their mission to be “Top Dog” in racket stringing as retail continues to struggle and e-commerce continues to boom.
